heartstrings - episode 17

TREAD GENTLY

This dance by Bethan to the song by Carolyn Hillyer is full of meaning.

Simple movements and poignant lyrics accompanied by a strong drum beat combine into an anthem for Mother Nature. A communion with the elements that sustain life.

This is an ideal dance to do barefoot on grass, if you can. We are honoured that it was chosen for last July's Global Dance Link Up

The second verse has special relevance to today’s situation (Thank you Jena, for suggesting this…)

She bears the scars of our fears and our follies
The dark night hovers and the world sits blind
But the waters flow and the moon is singing
Daughter winds are gathering and hope is high.

Tread gently on the earth
Breathe gently of the air
Lie gently in the water
Touch gently to the fire.
